The 28-year-old Frenchman was injured in the second half of the match when he collided with Manchester City defender Gabriel Jesus. The incident resulted in Kimpembe falling to the ground and requiring medical attention on the pitch.
After being assessed by the team doctors, Kimpembe was diagnosed with a Grade II anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his left knee. This is a serious injury that requires surgical intervention to repair.
